Bicycle Colorado’s Event Support Program was created to support event directors across the state. We help Colorado cycling events to be safe, inclusive and sustainable. In this role, we:

  • Conduct legislative and advocacy work on behalf of events.
  • Build connections with host communities, insurance providers, law enforcement, permitting agencies and municipalities.
  • Manage our Comprehensive Event Calendar as a service to our community.
  • Work to reduce event date conflicts and mesh our local calendar with national events.
  • Incorporate competitive collegiate events into the local calendar.
  • Support events in their relationship with USA Cycling.
  • Provide access to the Race Kit (which is full of equipment needed to put on a safe and successful event).  This Race Kit, located in Lafayette, is available to BC member clubs at very reasonable pricing.
  • Assist with preregistration race data integrity and USAC results upload.
  • Assign USAC officials to local races.
  • Purchase insurance certificates for USAC Motor Referees for our member clubs

USA Cycling has recently expanded the amount of resources that are available to event directors.
