Bicycle Racing in Colorado

There are many different ways to race a bicycle in Colorado – we’ve got more than 400 events each year – including mountain bike cross country and gravity, gravel, gran fondos, BMX, criteriums, hill climbs, road races, time trials, cyclocross and TWO active velodromes for track racing. Some events are sanctioned by USA Cycling, the national governing body for the sport. These events require either an annual or one-day racing membership. Many events are non-sanctioned and do not require a special membership.

Bicycle Colorado and USA Cycling

Bicycle Colorado serves in the role of Local Association (LA) for USA Cycling in the state of Colorado. In this capacity, we support USA Cycling sanctioned events, members, event directors and race officials.

As one of the leading Local Associations in the country, Bicycle Colorado actively works to support bicycle racing across the state.

In 2025, valid USA Cycling Race members will be assessed an Event Support Fee by Bicycle Colorado.  This fee replaces the old BRAC membership fee, and provides inclusion in communications, awards parties, State Championship events and individual Cup points competitions. The revenue from this fee is invested in local event support, through investments in the race kit, tools to improve race data integrity and the work required to sustain and grow the sport.

Please note that clubs and teams are not included in the individual membership model. Club Membership at Bicycle Colorado is $100 per year and provides clubs and teams with many great benefits – please see our Clubs and Teams Page for more information.

Thank you for supporting Bicycle Colorado and for being part of the Colorado cycling community!
