Bicycle Colorado’s Event Support Program was created to support event directors across the state. We help Colorado cycling events to be safe, inclusive and sustainable. In this role, we:
- Conduct legislative and advocacy work on behalf of events.
- Build connections with host communities, insurance providers, law enforcement, permitting agencies and municipalities.
- Manage our Comprehensive Event Calendar as a service to our community.
- Work to reduce event date conflicts and mesh our local calendar with national events.
- Incorporate competitive collegiate cycling events into the local calendar.
- Support events in their relationship with USA Cycling.
- Provide access to the Race Kit (which is full of equipment needed to put on a safe and successful event).
- The Race Kit, located in Lafayette, is available to BC member clubs at very reasonable pricing.
- Assist with preregistration race data integrity and USAC results upload.
- Assign USAC officials to local races.
- Purchase insurance certificates for USAC Motor Referees for events hosted by our member clubs.
