Let's ride!

Spring is officially here and it’s time to get back on the bike! As part of the Active Bike Corridors program, Bicycle Colorado will be leading group rides into downtown Denver every Friday throughout May and June. We’re calling these rides Coffee Commutes, as we’ll be starting from various coffee shop locations on the outskirts of town.

The routes will follow the nearest Active Bike Corridor and will be accessible to all ages, experience levels, and abilities. We want to show folks just how easy it is to commute by bike into Downtown, so come out and join us!

The scoop

Each Friday beginning May 7, we will be leading various group rides from different Denver coffee shop locations. Rides leave at 8:15 a.m, so come early if you’d like to grab a beverage and meet your ride leaders. All rides terminate at Skyline Park in downtown Denver at approximately 8:45 a.m, depending on the start location. Rides will be led by our expert team of education staff, and group sizes will be limited to just 6 riders. All you need is a functioning bike and a fun attitude as we help to kick start your Friday in the best way possible—on a bike!

How do I join?

To join one or more of our rides, please use the individual signup links below. Registration for the rides will close at 2 pm the day prior. Attendees will be notified the day before to remind you of your ride, who your ride leaders are, and any other necessary details. We welcome riders to join us to practice their bike commuting skills, even if they aren’t needing to arrive downtown for the day.

What about the ride home?

Based on the various individual schedules at the end of the day, we won’t be able to support an afternoon ride out of downtown.

COVID protocols

Yes! Please don’t attend if you at all have a fever, feel unwell and have COVID symptoms, or have been recently exposed to someone with COVID. All riders will need to wear masks at all times, and while riding we will maintain 6ft distancing. Group size will be limited to six riders plus two ride leaders.

We’re thrilled to see so many people out enjoying (and often rediscovering the joy of) riding a bike right now, and we’re asking ALL bicyclists to do their part to prevent the spread of #covid19 by wearing a mask or other face covering when out for a ride. Doing so keeps you, your loved ones, those around you, and all Coloradans safer while helping reduce stress on our medical system. If you still need a mask, click the link in our bio to pre-order one now and support our advocacy work! Thanks so much to everyone who has already purchased, and to @primalwear for supporting our efforts over the years. Ride on.
  • #BicycleColorado volunteers and staff members spent time today helping @denverurbangardens and @denverfoodrescue deliver “Grow a Garden” food boxes to home-bound families in Denver—via bike! Supporting our community on two wheels makes for a great way to spend a sunny day. Many thanks to our friends @ddchen47, David M., and @juggernautcargo for your help! Head to denverfoodrescue.org or dug.org to learn more about these great local organizations. #rideyourbike
  • Tonight the #BicycleColorado team celebrated Stacey, our outgoing Development Director, with a virtual happy hour. Stacey has been an absolute rockstar for BC. We’re sad to see her leave, but thrilled for her as she heads out on a new adventure (hopefully in the #BikeAdvocacy space!) in North Carolina. Please join us in wishing her well!
