Whether you’re 8 or 80, Bicycle Colorado’s Learn to Ride lessons

are a great way to learn to ride a bike!

You can do it!

Have you always dreamed of riding a bike but can’t keep your balance? Does teaching your child to ride often end in tears? Take heart, there is a new way to learn how to ride a bike!

Our Learn to Ride lessons teach children and adults to ride using the gliding technique. With this simple and effective technique, most students are pedaling within two hours.

Learn to Ride is sponsored by Team Evergreen Cycling, a nonprofit and the largest bike club in Colorado. Team Evergreen gives back to bicycling and the broader community in many ways and we are grateful to have them supporting our new riders!

Learn to Ride successes

  • We’ve taught nearly 450 kids and adults in our first four years offering learn to ride lessons
  • 85% of students who completed our post-lesson survey said they were able to pedal by the end of their lesson
  • 56% of these students are now riding at least once a week and 70% are riding at least once a month

Check out our blog for some student stories and statistics from the 2019 season!

Awesome, helpful instructors who really took the time to watch everyone and give personal attention. The environment was so supportive and friendly!

The class really helped me re-gain my balance. I’d learned to ride as a child, but after 25 years of not owning or riding a bike, I was very unstable and uncomfortable when I first tried again. The class gave me the skills and confidence to get back out there without making me feel silly.

The staff members are very patient and flexible. They put the needs of the children as the main priority.

The instructors were absolutely amazing. These professionals had my son zooming around in under an hour (after my own attempts at teaching him how to ride a bike had failed him). It was life-changing! I .was really ready to give up and just label my 9-year-old son as a scooter rider forever

Thank you to our additional supporters and sponsors!
