71% of Steamboat Springs voters say yes to new trail funding
On Nov. 5, Steamboat Springs residents overwhelmingly approved a measure that dedicates area lodging taxes to funding local trail projects and creating a new promenade on Yampa Street, which follows the Yampa River in downtown Steamboat.
The area already boasts more than 500 miles of single track, the family-friendly Yampa River Core Trail, a new bike park and many miles of scenic country roads.
With the backing of voters, the dedicated funding will make the area even better for residents and the hundreds of thousands of people who visit the area each year. What a win for bicycling in Colorado.
