Pedaling 4 Parkinson’s – ride virtually during month of June!

Register today for the 2020 Pedaling 4 Parkinson’s ride, which is now a month-long virtual event!

Rather than bringing hundreds of people physically together for a ride this year, we are going to try something different – we’re going virtual! This is going to open up some exciting possibilities.

For this virtual event, riders will have complete control over where they ride, when they ride, how far they ride, and even what they ride. If anyone chooses to log some or all of their miles on a Peloton, a smart trainer connected to Zwift, or any other type of stationary bike or trainer, we will be happy to count those miles right along with miles ridden on dirt, gravel, bike paths, or out on the road. Every mile counts!

While this is uncharted territory for Pedaling 4 Parkinson’s, we are committed to doing everything we can to make sure this is a fun and rewarding experience for all participants. There will be contests, raffles, and frequent recognition of achievements throughout the month of June. In the coming weeks, we will be providing much more detail on how everything is going to work this year so that you are ready to get off to a great start on June 1st.

To better align with the virtual format this year and to encourage as many new participants as possible, the registration fee and suggested individual fundraising targets have been significantly reduced.

To all of our past donors and volunteers, we hope you will consider joining us this year as a rider. If you’ve previously thought about riding with us, but never gotten around to registering, this is definitely the year you should take action. With this unique event format, the 2020 Pedaling 4 Parkinson’s ride can be almost anything you want to make it. Please be sure to click the button below and register today.

Once registered, please start recruiting your team. Challenge your friends, neighbors, co-workers, family members, and old classmates you haven’t seen in years to join you (virtually) this June. (Be sure to point out that with the structure of the virtual ride this year, there are very few good excuses for not participating). Maximizing participation is going to be a key to making this year’s event a success.

Although our ride is going virtual this year, our mission to support research that will lead to an eventual cure for Parkinson’s disease remains unchanged. Thank you for joining us in this goal and for choosing to be part of our family.

Pedaling 4 Parkinson’s draws hundreds each year to join the fight against Parkinson’s Disease. This year we will be starting at Sweetwater Park in Lone Tree. With multiple distances to choose from, there is a route for participants of all levels.  All money raised from riders will be donated to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Whether you’re a rider, sponsor, or volunteer, every effort counts.

We’re pleased to offer four routes this year, to give everyone a chance to Join The Fight!  Choose your challenge, and get ready for June 13, 2020!  Register early, as prices will go up as we get close to Ride Day. Click here to see the course maps for the 10-mile, 23-mile, 40-mile, and 60-mile routes.

All routes start and end at Sweetwater Park in Lone Tree, and will go on, rain or shine.  Each rider pledges to raise a minimum donation of $150 (in addition to the registration fee), all of which will go to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.  Please note that the routes shown below are subject to minor changes.

The Tandem Project

Registration is free for captains and Parkinsonian stokers.  Please register early so that stokers and captains can meet ahead of time and take a practice ride before Ride Day.  The $150 fundraising minimum is encouraged, but not required.  Both captains and stokers should register by clicking here.  Look for the “Tandem Bike Stoker” or “Tandem Bike Captain” drop-downs on the registration page.

The Latest News

  • DON’T DELAY: We’re placing another order for #BicycleColorado masks made by our friends at @primalwear TOMORROW (5/14) at noon! Click the link in our bio to get yours now!
We’re thrilled to see so many people out enjoying (and often rediscovering the joy of) riding a bike right now, and we’re asking ALL bicyclists to do their part to prevent the spread of #covid19 by wearing a mask or other face covering when out for a ride. Doing so keeps you, your loved ones, those around you, and all Coloradans safer while helping reduce stress on our medical system. If you still need a mask, click the link in our bio to pre-order one now and support our advocacy work! Thanks so much to everyone who has already purchased, and to @primalwear for supporting our efforts over the years. Ride on.
  • #BicycleColorado volunteers and staff members spent time today helping @denverurbangardens and @denverfoodrescue deliver “Grow a Garden” food boxes to home-bound families in Denver—via bike! Supporting our community on two wheels makes for a great way to spend a sunny day. Many thanks to our friends @ddchen47, David M., and @juggernautcargo for your help! Head to or to learn more about these great local organizations. #rideyourbike
  • Tonight the #BicycleColorado team celebrated Stacey, our outgoing Development Director, with a virtual happy hour. Stacey has been an absolute rockstar for BC. We’re sad to see her leave, but thrilled for her as she heads out on a new adventure (hopefully in the #BikeAdvocacy space!) in North Carolina. Please join us in wishing her well!
