Moving People Forward

This one-day conference will dive deep into the present and future face of mobility and the creative and collaborative advancements that are changing the ways people move.

Keynotes and panelists will explore innovative ideas, spark dialogue and promote solutions for Colorado’s mobility future. By convening national and local leaders, we are fostering the inspiration and dialogue necessary to ensure Colorado cities are at the forefront of 21st century active transportation.

Meet the keynote: Janette Sadik-Khan

Janette Sadik-Khan is one of the world’s foremost authorities on transportation and urban transformation. She served as New York City’s transportation commissioner from 2007 to 2013 under Mayor Michael Bloomberg, overseeing historic changes to the city’s streets—closing Broadway to cars in Times Square, building nearly 400 miles of bike lanes and seven rapid bus lines, launching the largest bike share program in North America and creating more than 60 plazas citywide.

A founding principal with Bloomberg Associates, she works with mayors around the world to reimagine and redesign their cities. She chairs the National Association of Transportation Officials, implementing new, people-focused street design standards, including the Global Street Design Guide, which has been adopted by 66 cities and organizations around the world.

She is the author of Streetfight: Handbook for an Urban Revolution, and every Moving People Forward attendee will receive a copy of the book as part of their registration. Moving People Forward marks Sadik-Khan’s first time speaking in Colorado.

  • Thanks to everyone who came out wanting to do their part to make our streets safer at last night’s Bicycle-Friendly Driver course in Lakewood! We did hear feedback that our cookies were too small—we heard you, we’ll try and do better 😂.
  • Now that’s just mean. No bike (or bicyclist!) deserves this!
  • Beautiful day for a bike commute. #bicyclecolorado
