The Course and Stages

PROLOGUE: WAVER ROCK > PUCKER UP > RAVEN RIDGE > CURT’S DOWN

Riders will be seeded based on Saturday’s Prologue race, which will take place on the last 2 miles of Stage 3. You will start at the Waver Rock, just below Widow Maker, and head straight to Pucker Up. After you complete Pucker Up, you’ll head straight across the saddle up Raven Ridge rather than down Moto as the first two years had been. You’ll be challenged to navigate through a short technical climb as you enter Raven Ridge. Then it’s mostly downhill with a couple of relatively smooth rolling climbs before you bomb down Curt’s Down into Curt’s Lane. Finish line is right at the wash area. Check out the Prologue Strava segment link.

STAGE 1: THE RIBBON, 2.1 miles

We’re so stoked we were able to secure the permits to take you down this legendary route. You’ll start on an otherworldly, humongous slab of rock and be hitting speeds in excess of 30mph in a matter of seconds. Click here to learn more about Stage 1!

STAGE 2: GUNNY LOOP, 2.1 miles

A local’s favorite and considered by many to be the best descent in the valley, Gunny Loop serves up copious amounts adrenaline pumping and grin-inducing singletrack. Used previously for the Gunny Enduro, this trail has all the key ingredients of killer stage: high speeds, technical maneuvers, and, if you get it right, flow. We’ve cutout the short, but brutally steep climb towards the end of the usual Gunny Enduro course and ended our stage just before that. There will still be plenty of pedaling, but we didn’t want to give the edge to the fitness junkies!

STAGE 3 (FINAL STAGE): FREE LUNCH > PUCKER-UP > RAVEN RIDGE > CURT’S DOWN, 3 miles

We’re throwing you right into it on stage 3, beginning on Free Lunch, the first BLM-sanctioned freeride trail in the nation. Following Free Lunch, you’ll descend down the Widow Maker, past Wafer Rock, and onto Pucker-Up. Pucker-Up is littered with jumps and a few drops, again, nothing too crazy. The final section of the stage 3 is a rolling section over Raven Ridge through Curt’s Lane onto Curt’s Down right to the Lunch Loop trailhead. Finish line is near the wash – no worries, you won’t have to ride up that steep hill entering the north end of the parking lot, we’re not that mean 😉 We wanted to provide an exciting finish with more shade options and entertainment. We’re thrilled to see so many people out enjoying (and often rediscovering the joy of) riding a bike right now, and we’re asking ALL bicyclists to do their part to prevent the spread of #covid19 by wearing a mask or other face covering when out for a ride. Doing so keeps you, your loved ones, those around you, and all Coloradans safer while helping reduce stress on our medical system. If you still need a mask, click the link in our bio to pre-order one now and support our advocacy work! Thanks so much to everyone who has already purchased, and to @primalwear for supporting our efforts over the years. Ride on.
  • #BicycleColorado volunteers and staff members spent time today helping @denverurbangardens and @denverfoodrescue deliver “Grow a Garden” food boxes to home-bound families in Denver—via bike! Supporting our community on two wheels makes for a great way to spend a sunny day. Many thanks to our friends @ddchen47, David M., and @juggernautcargo for your help! Head to denverfoodrescue.org or dug.org to learn more about these great local organizations. #rideyourbike
  • Tonight the #BicycleColorado team celebrated Stacey, our outgoing Development Director, with a virtual happy hour. Stacey has been an absolute rockstar for BC. We’re sad to see her leave, but thrilled for her as she heads out on a new adventure (hopefully in the #BikeAdvocacy space!) in North Carolina. Please join us in wishing her well!
