ERock Sunrise – Sunset Mountain Bike Race

Register today for the Sunrise to Sunset Elephant Rock race in June 2022!

The Sunrise to Sunset Elephant Rock is designed to offer recreational and competitive cyclists the opportunity to compete in a fun and rewarding 12 hour endurance race on a moderately technical off-road course. Register as an individual or form a team that loves to shred for a memorable day of racing, camaraderie and laughs. Register today!

Taking place again on the flowy trails at Philip S. Miller Park in Castle Rock, this amazing $30M facility offers the perfect endurance mountain bike venue less than a mile from the Colorado Bike Expo and Elephant Rock Cycling Festival.  The playful 6.5-mile course is cut into to the hills and drainages surrounding the park and offers ample viewing from the staging area for team members and spectators.

The race will start at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 5 and will end at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Included with your entry:

  • A Commemorative T-shirt
  • Great refreshments and entertainment
  • Post-race meal and party; complete with food, beer and live music
  • Tons of great prize drawings
  • Timing with live tracking

New for 2021

The course will be counter clockwise (reverse from previous years). Plus, get your ROCK on! That’s right –we are making this years event themed “ROCK AND ROLL”.  Get your team to dress up and decorate your team area for some sweet prizes.

Chip Timing

Bike plate numbers with a timing chip on the back will be issued at registration and should be attached to the front of their bike at all times. Every racer will have their own bike plate assigned to them.

Again in 2021, we will work in a partnership with the Colorado High School Cycling League.  A portion of all registration fees will go to this amazing organization, in an effort to further their mission of building strong minds, bodies and characters in an inclusive, egalitarian environment by engaging juniors in the challenging and exciting world of competitive cycling.

Post race BBQ and Expo

Stick around after your ride for the post-race celebration that includes live music, beer garden, exhibitors, awards and of course your post race meal. Inform your friends and family that spectators are encouraged, so please join us for all the festivities!

Awards and Prizes

Awards will be presented to the top three teams and solo racers in each category. Prizes and recognition will also be granted for best team name and best team spirit!

No awards will be mailed following the event, so please check the results to determine if you are a category winner. All awards will be presented shortly after the results are posted during the awards ceremony.

Prize drawings will also be held throughout the day, so everyone can be a winner! Please be sure to submit your raffle ticket (tear-off tag located on on your race bib) into the drawing bucket.

The Iron Tusk Award

Are you tusk enough? Race for 12 hours on June 5 and complete the Elephant Rock Century on June 6…all for the IRON TUSK. If ready to commit to this epic challenge, email to receive a $10-off coupon to use on both registrations. Finishers will receive a prestigious award that will have everyone trumpeting!

Compete solo or form a team of cycling amigos who love to shred. Register TODAY for a memorable 12 hours of racing on the epic trails of Philip S. Miller Park in Castle Rock, CO.

  • DON’T DELAY: We’re placing another order for #BicycleColorado masks made by our friends at @primalwear TOMORROW (5/14) at noon! Click the link in our bio to get yours now!
We’re thrilled to see so many people out enjoying (and often rediscovering the joy of) riding a bike right now, and we’re asking ALL bicyclists to do their part to prevent the spread of #covid19 by wearing a mask or other face covering when out for a ride. Doing so keeps you, your loved ones, those around you, and all Coloradans safer while helping reduce stress on our medical system. If you still need a mask, click the link in our bio to pre-order one now and support our advocacy work! Thanks so much to everyone who has already purchased, and to @primalwear for supporting our efforts over the years. Ride on.
  • #BicycleColorado volunteers and staff members spent time today helping @denverurbangardens and @denverfoodrescue deliver “Grow a Garden” food boxes to home-bound families in Denver—via bike! Supporting our community on two wheels makes for a great way to spend a sunny day. Many thanks to our friends @ddchen47, David M., and @juggernautcargo for your help! Head to or to learn more about these great local organizations. #rideyourbike
  • Tonight the #BicycleColorado team celebrated Stacey, our outgoing Development Director, with a virtual happy hour. Stacey has been an absolute rockstar for BC. We’re sad to see her leave, but thrilled for her as she heads out on a new adventure (hopefully in the #BikeAdvocacy space!) in North Carolina. Please join us in wishing her well!
