ERock Sunrise – Sunset Mountain Bike Race

Sunrise to Sunset Elephant Rock will ride again and we look forward to our best yet in June 2021! Click here to learn more.

The Sunrise to Sunset Elephant Rock is designed to offer recreational and competitive cyclists the opportunity to compete in a fun and rewarding 12 hour endurance race on a moderately technical off-road course. Register as an individual or form a team that loves to shred for a memorable day of racing, camaraderie and laughs. Register today!

Taking place again at the freshly cut trails of the Philip S. Miller Park in Castle Rock, this amazing $30M facility offers the perfect endurance mountain bike venue less than a mile from the Colorado Bike Expo and Elephant Rock Cycling Festival.  The playful and flowy 6.5 mile course is cut into to the hills and drainages surrounding the park and offers ample viewing from the staging area for team members and spectators.

About

The race will start at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6 and will end at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Registration will be offered the day of the race – opening at 5:30 a.m. and closing at 6:45 a.m. We encourage all racers to arrive early.

Included with your entry:

  • Custom long finger cycling gloves
  • Great refreshments and entertainment
  • Post-race BBQ and party; complete with food, beer and live music
  • Tons of great prize drawings
  • Timing with live tracking

Chip Timing

Bibs/chips will be issued at registration and should be attached to the front fork.  Every racer will have their own bib/chip assigned to them. The chip must be returned after the race in order for times to be considered “official”.

Beneficiary

Again in 2020, we will work in a partnership with the Colorado High School Cycling League.  A portion of all registration fees will go to this amazing organization, in an effort to further their mission of building strong minds, bodies and characters in an inclusive, egalitarian environment by engaging juniors in the challenging and exciting world of competitive cycling.

Post race BBQ and Expo

Stick around after your ride for the post ride celebration, lunch/BBQ, and live music.  Inform your friends and family that the expo is also open during the ride itself, so while you are on the course, they can enjoy the exhibits.

The BBQ is provided to all participants. Your wrist band will act as your meal voucher. Tickets to the post race lunch will also be available for friends and family.  You may purchase them at the event or when you register online.

Awards and Prizes

Awards will be presented to the top 3 teams/solos in each category. Prizes and recognition will also be granted for best team name, best costume, best decorated bike, best team spirit, best team tent / village, best team promotional photo and last but not least – best bike beard! This will include medals and prizes from our great sponsors.

In addition, to further support the Colorado High School Cycling League, Sunrise to Sunset is excited to announce that a scholarship will be award to the 1st place team in both the 4 & 5 Junior Only categories.

The Iron Tusk Award

Are you tusk enough? Race for 12 hours on June 6 and complete the Elephant Rock Century on June 7…all for the IRON TUSK. If ready to commit to this epic challenge, email support@rollmassif.com to receive a $10-off coupon to use on both registrations.  Finishers will receive a prestigious award that will have everyone trumpeting!

Compete solo or form a team of cycling amigos who love to shred. Register TODAY for a memorable 12 hours of racing on the epic trails of Philip S. Miller Park in Castle Rock, CO.

We’re thrilled to see so many people out enjoying (and often rediscovering the joy of) riding a bike right now, and we’re asking ALL bicyclists to do their part to prevent the spread of #covid19 by wearing a mask or other face covering when out for a ride. Doing so keeps you, your loved ones, those around you, and all Coloradans safer while helping reduce stress on our medical system. If you still need a mask, click the link in our bio to pre-order one now and support our advocacy work! Thanks so much to everyone who has already purchased, and to @primalwear for supporting our efforts over the years. Ride on.
  • #BicycleColorado volunteers and staff members spent time today helping @denverurbangardens and @denverfoodrescue deliver “Grow a Garden” food boxes to home-bound families in Denver—via bike! Supporting our community on two wheels makes for a great way to spend a sunny day. Many thanks to our friends @ddchen47, David M., and @juggernautcargo for your help! Head to denverfoodrescue.org or dug.org to learn more about these great local organizations. #rideyourbike
  • Tonight the #BicycleColorado team celebrated Stacey, our outgoing Development Director, with a virtual happy hour. Stacey has been an absolute rockstar for BC. We’re sad to see her leave, but thrilled for her as she heads out on a new adventure (hopefully in the #BikeAdvocacy space!) in North Carolina. Please join us in wishing her well!
