The Hundo

June 15, 2024

Located less than an hour southwest of Denver, the Buffalo Creek Trail System and the Colorado Trail are home to some of the best mountain biking in the country. The Hundo is an epic mountain bike race in the beloved Buffalo Creek area. Racers are treated to miles and miles of beautiful, flowy singletrack. Best part of all, the Hundo benefits three amazing organizations – Lucky to Ride, the Colorado Mountain Bike Association (COMBA), and the Colorado High School Cycling League.

Partners and Supporters

Team Evergreen Cycling is the oldest and largest cycling club in Colorado.  Their mission is to build the cycling community by expanding rider experiences, hosting compelling events, and channeling thoughtful philanthropic impact.  As a non-profit, they have donated nearly $3.5M to local charitable and advocacy organizations. Anyone can become a member and enjoy the benefits that this club has to offer. But you aren’t just joining a club, you are joining a group of folks that care about and contribute to the community through the love of riding a bike.

The Hundo supports three cycling initiatives in Colorado: Lucky to Ride, dedicated to giving underserved and at-risk youth the opportunity to experience and learn about the natural beauty of Colorado from the seat of a mountain bike. The Colorado High School Cycling League, an interscholastic mountain bike race series that promotes positive youth development, fosters healthy habits, strengthens family bonds, and builds community one pedal stroke at a time. Colorado Mountain Bike Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to the development and preservation of great mountain biking experiences in Colorado.

We’re thrilled to see so many people out enjoying (and often rediscovering the joy of) riding a bike right now, and we’re asking ALL bicyclists to do their part to prevent the spread of #covid19 by wearing a mask or other face covering when out for a ride. Doing so keeps you, your loved ones, those around you, and all Coloradans safer while helping reduce stress on our medical system. If you still need a mask, click the link in our bio to pre-order one now and support our advocacy work! Thanks so much to everyone who has already purchased, and to @primalwear for supporting our efforts over the years. Ride on.
  • #BicycleColorado volunteers and staff members spent time today helping @denverurbangardens and @denverfoodrescue deliver “Grow a Garden” food boxes to home-bound families in Denver—via bike! Supporting our community on two wheels makes for a great way to spend a sunny day. Many thanks to our friends @ddchen47, David M., and @juggernautcargo for your help! Head to denverfoodrescue.org or dug.org to learn more about these great local organizations. #rideyourbike
  • Tonight the #BicycleColorado team celebrated Stacey, our outgoing Development Director, with a virtual happy hour. Stacey has been an absolute rockstar for BC. We’re sad to see her leave, but thrilled for her as she heads out on a new adventure (hopefully in the #BikeAdvocacy space!) in North Carolina. Please join us in wishing her well!
