PRESS RELEASE DENVER, Colo • January 20, 2026 — Bicycle Colorado, the state’s leading organization championing the safety and interests of bicyclists, and Obvio.AI, a technology company dedicated to curbing reckless driving, today announced the alarming results of a landmark driver behavior safety study in Colorado. The driver behavior study, based on 30-minute observation windows across 196 intersections in 25 Colorado cities and counties, exposes nearly 7,900 violations from a total of nearly 50,000 vehicles.

E-bikes have become a common sight in Colorado, with more people than ever reaping the personal, social, and environmental benefits of getting around by bicycle. E-bike adoption did not happen overnight, and it has taken the efforts of legislators, government agencies, and advocates like Bicycle Colorado.

It sounds like a scene from a bygone era: a brother and sister set off on bicycles to school each and every morning, sometimes stopping at the public library or the ice cream parlor on the way home after school.
